Because, Becky, they serve as fantastic, versatile metaphors. They lend themselves to meaning, regardless of whether they actually MEAN anything. In other words, they make you sound poetic when really you have no idea what the FUCK YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. And that, right there, just about sums up this blog.
